Getting to know your therapist

Portrait of Jolita Gurskytė, psychologist and Gestalt therapy practitioner.

Hi, I am Jolita

I am a psychologist and a Gestalt therapy practitioner. My professional journey began over a decade ago at a Crisis Intervention Center in Vilnius. There, I learned deep respect for the unpredictability of life and the uniqueness of every person. That experience is the foundation of my work today.

I build a therapeutic relationship based on authentic connection, safety, and acceptance. In the Gestalt therapy process, I am by your side as a companion. Together, we explore your boundaries, exhaustion, and recurring patterns. We are aiming not only to understand but to truly feel how you can create a more fulfilling life here and now.

Most often, I meet people who carry a sense of inner stagnation or a vague feeling that something is not right. You do not need to have it all figured out before reaching out. The process of understanding begins in the space we create together.

Alongside my therapy practice, I also work in organizational psychology. Although these fields may seem different, they share a common core: the quality of relationships. Gestalt theory teaches us that we do not exist in a vacuum. We are always in relationship with our environment. The same principles of awareness and authentic contact apply whether you are seeking personal peace, building healthy relationships, or working together with others.

My Approach

Gestalt therapy is rooted in the idea that real, lasting change does not come from analyzing the past alone. It happens through awareness - through learning to notice what you feel, what you need, and how you relate to the world around you, right here, right now.

In our sessions, I do not take the role of an expert who tells you what to do. Instead, I walk alongside you as a companion. Together, we pay attention to what is present: your body, your emotions, your patterns of thinking and relating. We explore the places where you may feel stuck, exhausted, or disconnected, and we do so with curiosity rather than judgment.

What you can expect from working with me is a space that feels genuinely safe. A place where you do not have to perform or have the right words. I meet every person with acceptance and respect for their unique story. My goal is not to fix you. My goal is to help you become more fully aware of who you are, so you can choose how you want to live.

We do not exist in a vacuum. We are always in relationship with our environment. The same principles of awareness and authentic contact are essential, whether you are seeking personal peace, building healthy relationships, or working together with others.
